The contract marriage of Vijay and Megha

Vijay, however, is a carefree and irresponsible man, who enjoys his bachelor life and does not want to commit to anyone. He agrees to get married only on one condition: that his future bride sign an agreement that the marriage will be on a trial basis for one year, and if he does not fall in love with her in that duration, the marriage will be annulled and she will get money as a return.


Vishwanath asks his personal assistant Megha (Kajol), a hardworking and honest girl who supports her family, to quit her job and marry Vijay. Megha initially refuses, but when she learns that her family is in dire financial straits, she accepts the offer. She also asks for financial support for her mother and siblings, which Vishwanath agrees to. Vijay and Megha get married in a simple ceremony, without any fanfare or celebration.

The challenges and changes in their relationship




After the marriage, Vijay and Megha move to Switzerland, where Vijay runs his business. They live in separate rooms and have no physical intimacy. Vijay treats Megha as a friend and does not show any interest or affection towards her. He also continues to flirt with other women, especially his secretary Anita (Mink Singh). Megha tries to adjust to her new life and hopes that Vijay will change his attitude towards her.
